Melissa Lofgren

‚ÄčWelcome to 2A!

My name is Mrs. Lofgren. I am originally from Ontario, and grew up in Stoney Creek. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Waterloo. Following my undergraduate studies, I spent a year teaching English as a second language in Gwangju, South Korea. Afterwards, I completed my Master of Teaching Degree at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia. My final teaching practicum was in Calgary at Earl Grey School. My first teaching positition was at the same school, grade 6. Following my first year of teaching, my husband and I decided to move to Medicine Hat to begin both of our careers. We love Alberta, the outdoors, hiking, camping and snowboarding, and we love the community of Medicine Hat and all of our sunny days!

This is my third year teaching grade 2, and my sixth year at Ross Glen School. My favourite subjects to teach are reading, math, and science. I love to help the kids grow academically throughout the year, and gain more independence. Every day in our classroom brings a wonderful new set of challenges!

I really look forward to working with your child this year!
